Equine Facilitated Learning

Are you curious about the growing field of horses as teachers?

My name is Cathy Huddleston, and I am a student of the horse, life-long horsewoman, expert in the field of Equine Facilitated Learning, trainer, and author of the book “Through the Eyes of a Horse”.  A unique story of how a little girl finds self-acceptance through the experience of seeing herself reflected through the eyes of a horse.

I’d like to help you shift perspective and step into the direction of being more present in daily life. I have developed a clinic format based on the community and herd dynamics of horses.  Experiential and embodied learning creates easily replicable knowledge, whether it’s in emotional agility, like-language, communication, or simply becoming more comfortable in a present state of being.

Why horses?

Because The horse is a master teacher in:

  • Being 100% present.
  • They are relationship focused utilizing coherence and coregulation through connection.
  • Horses are Congruent and never pretend to be something they are not.
  • They carry extraordinary learning, are proactive, and respond to the environment.
  • Engage in consensual leadership roles. BTW, herds are led by a mare(female), share responsibilities raising the foals with the stallion, and each within the herd fulfills a strength-based role to support the whole.

My role: to be a co-facilitator with the horse. As a lifelong horsewoman and student of the horse, including a B.A. in equine studies and M. Ed. in equestrian education, my lifetime of learning as a professional horse trainer and instructor is available to you through a combination of virtual and in person experiences.

Clients state they have found:

  • More presence in their day to day lives.
  • Experience less stress and more peace.
  • Better utilize their intuition and emotion for aligned decisions and choices.
  • Practice emotional agility and congruence in daily life.
  • Embrace coregulation and connection.
  • Have improved family and work life distinction, creating clear supported boundaries that enhance relationships.

This program utilizes technology, horses, and in-person engagement with experiential learning practices to create better daily living.  It’s amazing how we can truly begin to recognize and reclaim ourselves and life through the eyes of a horse.
